Access All Areas

WiFi's great isn't it, pull out the PDA, do a scan and find an Access Point and have free internet access. It's a shame the comany next door hasn't used encryption.

The Chef

Ha, talk about a meal out the other night. We took Matthew to Julies mam and dads while we went for an 'indian', across town we go again to our local restaurant and it's full becuase we never booked a table, on the other side of town we try again and it's full also, back across town to another restaurant and there's a big queue so we don't stop, being a bit sick at this time I said no dicking about, we are going to the little chef! Well, the menu has changed at the old faithful chef and the indian has been taken off, it was quite a tasty indian to be honest when it wasn't frozen in the middle like I had once! Anyways, I had the smothered chicked, chips and beans (no - not the early starter that I normally get!). Of course, being bolshy I wrote an Email to the chef complaining about the indian being taken off the menu... I'm waiting a response...

Did I get done by that speed camera on the A66 when I was going to Teesside today? I hope not guvnor! But I'm glad I wasn't in that Blue Audi TT that pranged that VW that was beside me in the roadworks on the A1! Ouch!

No Map, No Sat Nav, No Luck

Coming back from Teesside yesterday I got stuck in a 2 hour traffic jam, I managed to do a whole 20 miles in an hour and that's with doing part of the normal run. I didn't have a map handy so made a few calls and took the next exit off and made it with a minute to spare for a viewing of someones house.
I'm supposed to be getting taken out tonight for a meal by Julie for my birthday, I don't think she has booked anyware yet, wel'll see though.

Unison the file synchroniser crashed about 11pm last night so I set it off running, when I got to work at 8am this morning it was still searching directories to I aborted it and decided Xcopy would do the job just as good. I set it off and of course got a call at 9.30am from someone saying the network had ground to a halt. Xcopy aborted, put it on a CD for me please and post it...far easier.

Well, this is a blog eh. I'll just create it on this server and link to it from my homepage on the server at home sometime when I get the chance.

Been setting up a file synchroniser today from a machine on the WAN to the server here at work. I used UNISON (http://www.cis.upenn.edu/~bcpierce/unison/) to sync the remote pc to the server. I had used it before under Linux and said 'yeah I can synvc over the WAN' but I forgot it was an NT machine at the other end, I might need to install SSH or something for NT on there if it exists!
