The Blind Man

A few months ago we got new windows in the house, those uPVC ones. We managed to get all the vertical blinds back up but the old roller blind by the kitchen sink wouldn't go so we decided to get a new venetion one, well, I decided and Julie sorted it. It got delivered and installed today and cost a whopping £110 for a 3 foot by 4 foot blind, ouch! to say the least. I have to say it does look very nice and it's good quality but £110, do I have 'Richard' tattooed on my forehead? I think so. I've got a bottle of Teachers Whisky open on the desk here as I write this drowning my sorrows.

WWdN

Going to work I was listening to Radio 5 Live, the girlfriend say'd I'm just sad and old but I think it's really quite interesting, anyway they were covering the California elections and who was the reporter, no other than old Wil Wheaton of Startrek TNG fame (Wesley Crusher). I have read WWdN for about a year now and think he's quite amusing.

The Blackstuff

I saw Boys From The Blackstuff the other day on DVD and got a copy, I'm just trying to watch the thing now on DVD while writing this, 'just pull up past her' says yosser about a hitch-hiker, 'and when she gets to the back of the van shoot off'.

We've been to (not so) sunny Berwick this week for a bit of a holiday. One day we went to Bamburgh Castle, we took Matthew in his pushchair, anyway, there was this huge stair case and I took Matthew out of his chair and walked up stairs with him while Julie sorted the pram. We were up at the top in another room when we suddenly saw the pram wheels about head height and a picture flying off the wall near the doorway at the top of the stairs, Julie didn't collapse the pram down and carry it up the stairs, oh no, she just lifted the thing at head height all the way up and lost control at the top. She was in a bit of a flap, so I gave the usual windups about security cameras and people walking up the stairs to see what was happening and we ran around the rest of the castle to get out of the way quickly.
